Well, we were together then, the whole crew, before the snickering, sniping and such, that dissovles a group, but we were there nonetheless on a ship that flew through the sky as a fish in water.
Anywho, I was playing an archer type guy, named, Guy, who was the acting manager of the raining of feathered death department, and Todd, who like Chris, had modeled their characters as Melnibonians akin to Elric, for the flash. Lori was there all elfy as usual, her standard fighter/magiker clone complete with her mercurial temper, and propensity to fireball everything. And Rick, "I guess I will throw a couple shurikins", as his standard monk and or ninja guy/gal. Darin was there also, as the fighter sneakthief, more warior than thief, accompanied by Clyde's, Digby, "good for heals, not for meals", cleric.
Well we had stowed away on the vessel in a large hold, that was sealed of course once the ship was underway, so we had to fight our way through each deck trying to systematically destroy the crew before we found the targets who were members of the Brotherhood of the Dark Death, or something similar. One was a magiker, the other a priest.
Oh, and destroying the ship was a bad idea because most of us, cannot fly, as some attested to later on in the night. Anyway we discovered the Evil Twin Brothers, part of the Inner Circle of the Dark Death, and before we could engage, a summoned Pit Fiend was before us just short of the mizzen. We hammered the thing like an anvil, and Lori did infact fireball the Fiend, and some of the ship, cause as we know, it does structual damage also, but it did perish, after a couple of dozen arrows, and several shurikens, and the combined might of the Melnibonians. Digby was there healing and pleading not to be eaten.
As we stepped over its carcass, high fiving as we swept toward the poop, the Evil Wonder Twins stepped from the rear cabin. The wizard was mirrored, as was his brother, and we commenced to attacking the pair without any time to rest. Unbeknownst to the party, the Evil Priest had cast a regenerate spell upon the beast, and it waylaided our party from the rear.
Fighting a two front battle is not a good idea when one front has a Fiend, and the other the Deadly Duo of the Dark Death.
As it turned out neither monks nor warrior sneakthieves can fly. Mores the pity, we lost The elf maid (she was no maid believe me). Guy, being a great guy, and quiver empty, also perished at the hands of the brotherhood. Only the Melnibonians and the priest survived.
Moral of the story, is learn how to fly, and make sure killing a Fiend the first time is the only time.
