On Evil Pc-ing

There was a night long ago, when a fair weather friend of our group, wanted us to game his killer DL module. By fair weather, we mean he would hang out and game if all his other much "cooler" friends were busy. Anywho he always bragged about his buddy's Vorpal Tounge Frost Brewed Sword +6 that could lop limbs and serve cool pints or something equally devastating. His swords went to eleven.

He was a Monty Hall GM, never to us, just his other, Fonzie to our Potsie, players. So after having our group besmirched and belittled at length we set up the date for his night. Now we were younger so that means maybe we lacked in judgement, but we carefully planned our characters in a power munchin method.

His final words before the game night were three" ... Ancient... Black... Dragon.... "Sounds scary huh?Not really. We told him we were bringing in some pcs from our campaign to play that he would have total VETO power to affirm or deny any character.

We constructed them with as little magic items as possible... but those magicks that were used were selected because of the damage bonuses... and oh how we loved rolling lots of dice.
I played the archer out of the original Unearthed, doing that base 6-16 damage per arrow and firing one before initiative was even rolled. I dont recall all the gear, but with the magic bow, and arrows, and speed mods, each arrow was doing 10-20 easy , three arrows on the first round, so doing 30-60, then 20-40 thereafter. So after round two I did 50-100 damage on something.
Add other characters to the mix, and whatever we hit, usually died with a whimper.

Mike played his Wizard Moebious, wielding two rings of wizardry, doubling first level spells, and shooting magic missles like a machine gun. All of us had these "sleeper" characters, seemingly weak, but underneath the surface, death dealers.

He, the GM, actually scoffed smugly at our PC's, laughing "these are characters"? Well anywho, we had our way with the obligatory NPC's, even on one occassion, making the female one, and quite possibly the male, "surrender to our manly pleasures". They protested and asked us why we were so icky... but we only replied that we found them trite and one dimensional, and moreover there could be no NPC xp thievery!

It was pretty awful, and I have blanked out most of the vile play, but we charmed waitresses into lap dances, and burned down the tree inn, because we could. We even joined the rampaging dragonmen and went on several raids, making new friends, and such.

His dragon spewed acid on our barbarian who refused to even dodge, taking full damage, before the party killed it in round one or maybe two. Pow. No fanfare, no eating our PC's, no nothin.
He didnt enjoy the night as much as we did, but he learned something about the game... that +5 Swords of the GnomishVampiric Half-Lichlord Mummies of Doom are nothing compared to the might of magic missle, and a good bow.

Part of me relishes that night, and I do see the GM on rare occassion, semi-annually, and I always smile and say... Ancient... Black... Dragon...hehehehehe.

We were young... what can I say... 50 dkp minus?
