Krull: a classic

Jeff's Blog always gets me thinking of the last days of summer when I was a lad, and I often time remember the movies I watched on cable, near 1976 or so, back when HBO was in its infancy. My brother and I would set our alarm clocks just to wake up at 3:00 in the morning so we could watch our favorite flicks every time they were offered. Somewhere near 1984, this gem appeared.

Story was a simple one ... a prince, a Beast, a black fortress never in the same place twice, a cyclops, slayers, a seer, a big spider, and a gooseberry pie- eating magician named Ergo. And Liam Neeson when he was no doubt working for scale.

Some trivia, since I like trivia especially about writers, Stan Sherman wrote this bad boy.
He wrote Ice Pirates, Any Which Way You Can, as well as 13 episodes of Batman, the original TV series. He can hang his hat on that. Hell I would.
