Crossgen titles from the defunct company may be making a comeback at Marvel, and scuttlebutt is, if you choose to believe it, that at least one title, my favorite, Meridian, might make it to the silver screen in an animated kinda way. Since Disney now owns Marvel Entertainment, the mouse people would be either making, producing, or distributing said product.
The title was written by Barbara Kesel, and penciled by Joshua Middleton, and or Steve McNiven, et. al., and tells the tale of a princess alone, betrayed by her uncle, a mysterious sigil that allows her certain unusual abilities, airships, sky pirates, floating island-states, high adventure and so on.
It follows a Spidermanesque theme of a youngster with great powers come great responsibilities meme, as she goes through the trials and tribulations of love, growing up, and super powered mayhem.
Joshua Middleton gets a special shout out because his style reminds me Duncan Rouleau, and he is now leaving the comic artist for hire game of ten years to pursue "personal work", which I am hoping is his one shot fairy-tale story Sky Between the Branches. He did lots of covers, including a run of 50 or so on Supergirl.
Cool right? I am hoping I can get my girls hooked on the books if they aren't too scary, and the cast isnt drawn in an overly-sexual way.
