Walking Dead

The Walking Dead trailer looks great, and should be on AMC this fall. I love Zombiepocalypse movies and stuff. Andrew Lincoln plays the lead. For all you nancies, he is the art dealer guy who has the hots for Keira Knightley in Love Actually.
So maybe at least one good series in the fall, unless Thundarr is in the works.

Under the Broken Moon

Here is a site that adapts Thundarr into a RPG... if you are interested http://www.rpglibrary.org/settings/thundarr/world.shtml.

The site lists the mechanics from an old alien/sci fi conspiracy game, Over the Edge, as well as a list of episodes lifting all pertinent info as the foundation of gameplay. It even has a link to the official Thundarr site.

Ariel is always so darn hot. Visiting the Official site will win you sound bites from the series including but not limited to, "Demon Dogs"! and "Ariel, Ookla, riiiiiiide!"

Toynami has these cool action figures for sale on their site, as well as these Herculoids, among others...
I want to be a schmoo complete with "squishy" protoplasm action.

Movies without the Wait

I found a great Screenplay-ish site, that allows you to read screenplays of fairly recent movies, like Little Miss Sunshine, and The Number 23, and Rocky, among others. Check it at http://www.simplyscripts.com/movie.html if you dare.

I think, if not know, I am a writer of unacknowledged genius, and I get on several sites of the "inspired people" that are all into art, writing, photography, and such. A great simmering creative stew lies in wait, on this great invention called the Internets. If you gots some site Nuggets, let me know. I will make another list of most visited you might like if you are nerdy oriented.

The site also boasts the Batman versus Superman called Asylum. Read it and let me know what you think. Its Andrew Kevin Walker who did the Seven thing, and Sleepy Hollow. So who knows?
Still looking for the Thundarr movie.... If only someone would write it, then shoot it, so I can see it like I do in my mind. Maybe Matthew McConaughey plays the overzealous sword slinger. Any opinions out there?

Marvel RPG

My mother recently passed and I have been spending some time at the childhood home, going through paperwork and things, but discovering gems from my gaming or comic book nerd past.

I found I owned all the Marvel books from the Marvel RPG, so I have stats of most of the Marvelverse, and better yet, traceable heroes that I can customize crimefighters of my own design. And yes I did spend some time tracing like a kid of 8, and recreating heroes from my past. I concentrated mostly on the Armored Yak, who was a Attuma clone, but this time I dug a little deeper. I used Thunderbird's body and the Whirlwind's helmet. I did extend the helmet forks a bit. I also made Redneck Gigalo, a bare chested Unicorn, with a number three on his fighting togs (trunks). I will get y'all a scan once I add some color. A cool site with new heroes and bad guys of all sorts, check http://www.thirdraildesignlab.com/trd_misc_thumbs.html; and it includes Marvel RPG stats like this dood. (click the top pick for the super scope)

Anywho, sad news from Jeff's site (see links), he has quit the Alidor Campaign, so some cool gaming nuggets and tales to be told may be silenced... at least until he starts, or is part of a new campaign somewhere. I wish him the best and show his site the love you know it deserves. He is the Yoda to our... hmmm... Biggs? Wedge?

He does give the props to our man THUNDARR. Maybe he can play or run that campaign, and list his nigh legendary exploits on his blog. Perhaps?

Hercules the Tool

I was showing Ronlim.com some love, skimming the back blogs as I do for interesting stuff that might appeal to me and the masses. And what ho? From his sight there is a spoof of the old Marvel cartoons from the sixties, where the mighty Thor is having conversation about a bloke... I think actor Dudley Moore plays the fair haired thunder god, and it is fairly entertaining.

Anywho from that link, there are the actual shows in all their sixties goodness complete with catchy theme songs. I watched one called Enter Heracles where I did prove my theory that Hercules is a tool of biblical proportion. So... I think this is the shout out you need http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1p1VXjibLA&mode=related&search=. Try it, you might dig it. I used to scamper home from elementary school just to catch the Hulk, and Captain America.

Now if only I can find Thundarr. OMG! There ARE whole Thundarr cartoons.... Looks like I will be late for work tomorrow. Why doesn't Thundarr were pants? I know he has the legs for it, but why risk it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kIIc4tvtF0&mode=related&search==

Jack Burton and Thundarr

"Like I told my last wife, I said, Honey, I never drive faster than I can see, and besides... it's all in the reflexes. Now I'm not saying that I've been everywhere and I've done everything, but I do know it's a pretty amazing planet we live on, and a man would have to be some kind of FOOL to think we're alone in THIS universe."

Big Trouble in Little China will always be a favorite of mine, and actually gets more quotes on a daily basis than any other movie, including Caddyshack, Animal House, Pulp Fiction, or Fight Club. Moreover it is a great setting for an Rpg.

We experimented with the concept of the story, and of course looked forward to besting the three storms. We also sought out any npc that resembled great character actor Al Leong. He is usaully type cast as the mean asian guy, that can Kung fu your ass, but he was great as the photographer in She's Having a Baby. He's been in everything, and you can check IMDB to provide collaboration.

Anywho... its a tough mix of a little chinese sorcery, and black magic,
martial arts, and guns, lots of guns, and trucks, and monsters and what have you. Maybe someone could use Modern and go from there with other books. It's very playable.

On another note, who misses Thundarr and his fabulous Sun Sword, and him yelling Demon Dogs, and all that?Me. That's who. What the hell is a Mock anyway?I love the post apocalyptic world where the riddle of steel rings true. And sorcerors are always a problem regardless of setting.

One thing that bugs me though. Ariel is a princess, but wields magic better than Ergo the Magnificent from Krull. You know him, short of stature, tall in power, broad of vision and narrow of purpose. ( or something like that) So why doesn't the barbarian rage all over her magic dispensing ass? Hmmm?
