Best Magic Item Ever

My favorite magic item as a player is ... yes the wand of wonder. As a player it was great fun to have random outcomes out of my boomstick especially when I needed it the most. My GM added to the list of outcomes and made his own tables and effects so I, and the party, would not know what to expect.

The unknown really worked in the absolute obliteration and or disinergration of the weakest of enemies like a band of kobolds, and was hilarious when shooting a steady stream of scores of butterflies at a hardcore opponent. Effects were fun, sometimes polymorphing the user or party into small crawling rodents, and or changing everyones sex in the party for twenty four hours also was a hoot. Once I was enchanted like a mood ring, and I would change colors as my emotions ran the gambit.

It was fun for us players and the GM. A littler bit of chaos can help a game. When I run I always try to get in some kind of "wonder" items, be it in a lair, or a gift from the pixies as a reward for saving their enchanted forest. If that fails I resort to the bag of tricks, also a favorite of mine.

I also try to work this in if one of the charcters has died, or the party has taken lumps, so our relationship does not become strained, or they think me a tyrant. We are all playing the game, GM and players alike. Humor is a great diffuser.
