Gameblog Stardate 11-7.06

Well, I dont soapbox very often, but I will now because you are a captive audience, an audience of one or two anyway...

On the subject of munchkins... gamers by trade can be all sorts of gamers, some theatrical and dramatic, others are like Algebra teachers, that have broke the code on hitting, and damage, hiding behind mounds of dice. I follow in the middle of the road, I like the rolling of all my piles, and oh how I love my piles, of dice. However, I do love my role too, theatrical, and dramatic, where I do have my own catch phrases ( Civilians run for cover), and battle cries ( Let's smoke some bacon). Its more humorous I think when the a muncher( i.e. Mike) tries the novel idea. Our GM, Mike used to do voices for the NPC'S. Even the females... no easy feat, but funny enough to make liquids come out your nose.

However too much of one thing is bad for anything, let alone the RPG. I like the power guys cause they can view my system and tell me in moments what can stack, or if my magic system will work in my homebrew, or what systems I can borrow a table from... To each his own. If it were not for these players, games would not be made. So why cant we all get along?

When I run I provide plenty of elements that will appeal to each, roler and roller, and everyone seems to enjoy the mix. Towning lends itself to the role, and dungeoning/sewering provides the opposite by and large. I have played before in which I rolled one die twenty at the three hour mark... wasnt a good night for my lonely pile, but it was edgey enough to serve...

Conflict moves the plot... most of the time... I reach for the pile, as should you.
